I spent a while browsing Amazon looking for a decent Kindle case, but didn't find anything I really liked. On Googling I came across this post on mobileread. And I knew what I had to do.
See, I like the feel of the Kindle. It's little and the arrows are exactly where my hands are. It's not the holding and reading of the Kindle that worries me. It's the bashing it's going to take in my messenger bag when I ride somewhere, or in a different bag on the bus. I need something to carry it in.
My case isn't nearly as pretty as the one linked above and it's not quite done. I don't really like how the top page turned out, but I like everything else!
The first challenge was finding a suitable book. I scoured the shelves of Goodwill looking for something that was thin enough, not too thin and bizarre. I believe this book counts.
According to Amazon it's worth about 10x more than I paid for it. Oops!
The dedication ....
She looks happy.
Trace around the Kindle!
Glue the pages together. I only did 4 in the corners and then squeezed the glue out. I wouldn't recommend this way and I'd probably use a different kind of glue next time.
After the pages are glued together take a box knife to it.
No photos of the finished product. I completed the cutting after we'd been at the pub with friends, so it was messier than expected. But the Kindle fits really well.

That is really smart! I love my kindle too! I have the kindle app on my phone, it syncs to the last page I read on my kindle. I love my droid too! Anywho, great idea tiff.
